Killin Junction Station

A disused railway station in Glen Dochart, at the head of Glen Ogle, Killin Junction Station opened initially as the terminus of the first section of the Callander and Oban Railway which opened in 1870. The station lies at a height of 240m (800 feet). It became a junction when the Killin Railway opened in 1886 and the station grew to include three platforms. Having been in decline for several years, both lines were scheduled for closure in 1965 as a result of the Beeching Review, but closed a few months early because the line to the south had been blocked by a landslide in Glen Ogle. Traces of the buildings and track-bed remain.
