Town Hall, Greenlaw

Located within Greenlaw, in the Scottish Borders, Greenlaw Town Hall was built in 1829-31 by John Cunninghame as the County Hall for Berwickshire. It was paid for by local landowner, Sir William Hume-Campbell of Marchmont. Designed in a Greek Revivalist style, it also served as a Sheriff Court and was converted to a public swimming pool in the 1960s, though by the 1980s it had returned to its use as a public hall. The raised dome of the building held the fire-proof room which was used to house the county's legal documents. By 2001, the building was largely disused. The building featured on the BBC television programme Restoration in 2006.
