St Ninian's Chapel
Situated at Tynet, just north of the A98 road between Fochabers and Portgordon in Moray, the white-harled St Ninian's Chapel is the oldest post Reformation Catholic Church still in use in Scotland. Originally a sheep cote with a thatched roof and no glazed windows, it was given by a local Gordon laird to the Catholic community in 1755 for use as a meeting place at a time when Catholics were viewed with some suspicion.
