Located at the settlement of Lochranza, on the Isle of Arran in North Ayrshire, the Isle of Arran Distillery opened in 1995, and a visitor centre was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth II on 9th August 1997. The distillery produces a range of single malt and blended whiskies, together with a cream liqueur, using water sourced from Loch na Davie. It offers guided tours of the facilities, audio-visual presentations of village life and distilling, an exhibition, shop and restaurant. Awarded the 'Distillery Visitor Experience of the Year' in 2014 and again in 2015, it received its highest number of visitors (104,000) in 2016.
In late 2016 the distillery had four new stills and a new spirit safe installed, allowing an increase in production to 140 casks a week or 700,000 litres per annum. The visitor centre refurbished in early 2017.
