Situated within Dalbeattie, this museum highlights the history and heritage of this part of Dumfries and Galloway, and in particular the planned village of Dalbeattie, its people and industries. Its collections include a plethora of donated items, organised into a variety of displays such as domestic items, an early school room, an army bunker, military memorabilia, ceramics, early medical equipment, cameras, radio many models. Of particular note is a display on Dalbeattie-born William McMaster Murdoch, who was First Officer of the Titanic and died when it sank in 1912.
Opened in 1993, an initiative of the local community, it is staffed by volunteers and run by the Dalbeattie Museum Trust.
