Located in the village of Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders, the Eyemouth Museum opened in 1981. It has exhibits on milling, fishing and farming, together with displays on the work of the blacksmith and wheelwright. The most notable exhibit is the Eyemouth Tapestry, measuring 4.5m (15 feet) by 1.2m (4 feet) and sewn by local women to commemorate the 189 fishermen who died in the Great East Coast Fishing Disaster of 1881.
The museum is co-located with the Eyemouth Tourist Information Centre in the Eyemouth Old Parish Church which was completed in 1812. The church was altered in 1836 and 1902 and the stables converted into a church hall in 1937.
