Jim Clark Motorsport Museum

(Jim Clark Room)

Located on Newtown Street within the town of Duns, in the Scottish Borders, near where he grew up, the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum celebrates the life of one of Scotland's greatest Grand Prix drivers. The museum began in 1969 as the Jim Clark Room, it includes many of his awards and trophies, as well as highlighting his early career and the circumstances of his death. In 2019, a new expanded museum was opened.

At the heart of the museum is the trophy collection featuring both Jim Clark’s historic Formula 1 World Championship cups from 1963 and 1965 and the Indianapolis 500 clock trophy from 1965, which were gifted by the Clark family. The displays chart his career from 1956, with his first competitive race at the Crimond Raceway in Aberdeenshire, through his remarkable success with Lotus until his death in 1968. The museum also features the overalls which Clark wore during races, film footage, pictures, photographs, newspaper articles, books, and magazines.

The museum is run by the Jim Clark Trust, with support from Live Borders, which operates cultural and leisure services on behalf of the Scottish Borders Council.
