Boath Doocot, Auldearn

A 17th-century pigeon-house on the site of an ancient motte, the Boath Doocot lies on the edge of the village of Auldearn near Nairn in Highland Council Area. It was gifted to the National Trust for Scotland in 1947. On 9th May 1645, the Covenanters were defeated near here by James Graham, the Marquis of Montrose (1612-50).
