Gask Ridge

Stretching for a distance of 10 miles (16 km) between Perth and Crieff in the heart of Strath Earn, Perth and Kinross, the Gask Ridge is formed by rising ground that separates the Pow Water to the north from the River Earn to the south. It formed part of a Roman frontier system first constructed by Agricola in the 80s AD and comprising forts and watchtowers along a road linking Bertha near Perth and Camelon near Falkirk. Part of the Roman road can still be traced and the site of a watchtower is marked near Ardunie.
