Thunderton HouseA 14th Century town mansion, rebuilt around 1650, Thunderton House was, for a long time, the principal house of the town of Elgin. It was home to several of the town's most influential and wealthy families, and was used as royal lodgings for passing Scottish Monarchy. It is claimed that Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed here on his way to Culloden. The grounds of the house extended to the High Street, although now it has been subdivided and the remains of the house have been incorporated into a public house.
