A modest cemetery located on the corner of Dalkeith Road and East Preston Street in SE Edinburgh, the East Preston Street Cemetery was laid out in 1820 by the Kirk Session of St Cuthbert's Parish Church, aware of the need for more burial space in the city. Extending to 1 ha (2.5 acres), the cemetery is now maintained by Edinburgh City Council. It is the last resting place of spirit merchant Andrew Usher (c.1782 - 1855).
