Our Lady Star of the Sea, Tayport

A simple but picturesque Roman Catholic church on Queen Street in Tayport (Fife), Our Lady Star of the Sea was designed by Reginald Fairlie 1938-9. With a slate roof which contrasts with the white-harled walls, it consists of a nave with an apse at the east end. The entrance is beneath an octagonal tower which features a slated spire. In a niche above the entrance is a stone sculpture of Our Lady by Hew Lorimer (1907-93). A wing containing a vestry was later added to the east end of the south wall of the nave.
