Aldour Bridge

A bridge which carries a minor road over the River Tummel in Perth and Kinross, the Aldour Bridge makes an important connection between Pitlochry, Fonab and Port-na-Craig. The bridge was built by the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board as part of their Tummel-Garry hydro-electric project and opened in 1949. Constructed of pre-stressed concrete, with metal parapets, it replaced the Cluny Bridge which was lost when Loch Faskally was flooded behind the Pitlochry Dam. On completion it was presented to Perth and Kinross County Council. The bridge was designed by Sir Alexander Gibb and Partners, while George Wimpey & Co. Ltd. were responsible for its construction.

The Rob Roy Way passes over this bridge.
