Linlithgow Golf Club

Located in the Kettleston Hills above the town, Linlithgow Golf Club is located a mile (1.6 km) southwest of the town centre. The course is 5851 yards (5350 m) in length and par 70. The club was formed in 1913 and the parkland course was laid out by Robert Simpson, who was the professional at Carnoustie. Four of these original holes survive today on a course which was extended to 18-holes in the early 1950s. The extension was possible because Braehead Farm was bought on the club's behalf in 1950 by Mrs Gena MacKinnon, of the family which owns Drambuie Liqueur. The modern club house was built on the site of Braehead farmhouse.
