Alistair McCoist Complex

(Ally McCoist Complex)

A sports complex on Quarry Road in the Greenhills district of East Kilbride, the Alistair McCoist Complex (usually referred to as the Ally McCoist Complex) occupies the site of the former St. Andrews School, a mile (1.4 km) south southwest of the Town Centre. This multi-purpose facility comprises two large sports halls, a meeting room, community room and an outdoor five-a-side football pitch. Although principally focused on football, the centre also provides facilities for badminton, basketball, handball, netball, table tennis and the martial arts, together with regular fitness classes. It is named in honour of footballer and football manager Ally McCoist (b.1962), who opened the £3.5-million complex in 2010. The facility is managed by South Lanarkshire Leisure Ltd on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council.
