North Rhins Wind Farm

The North Rhins Wind Farm is a modest development located across the summits of Craigenlee Fell to the north of Enoch in Dumfries and Galloway, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Stranraer. Operational since December 2009, the site comprises eleven Vestas V80 turbines, each generating 2 MW of power, giving a total capacity of 22 MW. The farm was built by contractors R.J. McLeod, with construction work including 4½ miles (7.2 km) of access road and 2.6 miles (4.2 km) of electrical cabling. Until 2014, it was owned and operated by US-based AES Corporation but then acquired Greencoat UK Wind, along with the Drone Hill Wind Farm in the Scottish Borders.
