Balmurrie Fell Wind Farm

Balmurrie Fell Wind Farm was commissioned in 2012 as a western extension of Artfield Fell Wind Farm located 3 miles (5 km) east northeast of New Luce in W Dumfries and Galloway. Consent was given in 2009 and construction began in January 2012, with completion in September the same year. The site comprises 7 Siemens turbines, each with a blade diameter of 62m (203 feet) and producing 1.3 MW of power, giving total output of 9.1 MW. The farm is operated by the Perth-based utility company Scottish and Southern Energy.
