Askival
(Ben More)

A Corbett and the highest peak on the island of Rum, Highland Council Area, Askival rises to a height of 812m (2663 feet) and lies 3 miles (5 km) south of Kinloch. The name Askival is derived from the Old Norse for 'ashwood peak', but this mountain is sometimes also referred to as Ben More (Gael: Beinn Mhor). Askival gives impressive views, particularly to the south over the Sound of Rum to the island of Eigg.
