New Town Hall

The New Town Hall is located on Bron Way in the centre of Cumbernauld in North Lanarkshire, one of a group in buildings lying immediately to the southeast of the Town Centre complex. Opened in 1996 to replace facilities once found in the original Town Centre, the building is principally intended for community use and social functions, but is also the office of the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. It is owned and operated by North Lanarkshire Council. A glazed two-storey entrance hall provides access to two function suites; the Beechwood Suite on the first floor which can accommodate 150 people and the smaller Craigieburn Suite on the ground floor which holds 90 people. Both suites have kitchens and a dressing room which can be used as an anteroom during a marriage ceremony or in association with performances.
