Barns Viaduct, also known as Stobs Viaduct, is an abandoned railway bridge which crosses the unclassified road to Barns an the Barnes Burn, ¾ mile (1.2 km) north of Stobs Castle and 3 miles (5 km) south of Hawick in the Scottish Borders. Built in 1862 for the Border Union Railway, it comprises four tall semi-circular arches constructed of rubble with an ashlar parapet. Later repairs have been undertaken in brick. The viaduct fell from use after the railway closed in 1969 but it was B-listed in 2003. Ownership passed from the British Railways Board to BRB (Residuary) Ltd in 2001, and then to the Highways Agency in 2013.
