Bowling Railway Station

A halt on the North Clyde Line in West Dunbartonshire, Bowling Railway Station (referred to as Bolan in Gaelic) lies on the northern shore of the River Clyde, to the west of Bowling Harbour, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) west of the village centre. Bowling got its first station is 1850, connecting to Balloch on Loch Lomond, but the opening of the Glasgow, Dumbarton & Helensburgh Railway in 1858 took the line into Glasgow. Currently operated by ScotRail, Bowling Station is unstaffed and was used by 43,916 passengers per annum (2009-10). It is preceded by Kilpatrick Railway Station, 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Dumbarton East, 2½ miles (4 km) to the west northwest.
