Crosshill Railway Station

(Cnoc na Croise)

Crosshill Railway Station (known in Gaelic as Cnoc na Croise) is situated on the Cathcart Circle Line, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south southeast of Govanhill in Glasgow City. It opened on the Cathcart District Railway in 1886 and lies in a stone-lined cutting below street-level. On the curved island platform, there is a pretty slated waiting room, featuring a glazed canopy. Operated by ScotRail, Crosshill Railway Station is staffed part-time and was used by 347,330 passengers in 2016-17. It is preceded by Mount Florida Railway Station, a half-mile (1 km) to the south southwest, and followed by Queen's Park, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the west northwest.
