Uddingston Station

Uddingston Railway Station (referred to in Gaelic as Baile Udain) serves the Shotts Line and the Argyle Line, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) northwest of Uddingston (South Lanarkshire) and a mile (1.5 km) southwest of Tannochside (North Lanarkshire). This station opened on the Clydesdale Junction Railway in 1849 and comprises two platforms connected by an overbridge, with a traditional waiting room and station masters' house on the south side, and a modern utilitarian passenger shelter opposite. Now operated by ScotRail, it is staffed part-time and was used by 876,000 passengers per annum (2016-17). It is preceded by Bellshill Railway Station, 2½ miles (4 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Cambuslang, 3½ miles (5.5 km) to the west.
