Glasgow BMX Centre

A purpose-built arena, located in Knightswood Park in Glasgow, next to Knightswood Golf Course, the Glasgow BMX Centre was built as a venue for the 2018 European Championships. It is the only Olympic-standard BMX track in Scotland and only the second in the UK, the first being in Manchester.

The track includes 8m / 26-foot and 5m / 16-foot start ramps, three banked 180° corners and multiple jumps. There are two routes; an elite route and a less technical route, together with a smaller pump track suitable for learners. Both tracks are floodlit and the Centre includes changing facilities, a meeting room, and a car park. The facility cost £3.7 million and construction began in November 2017. Managed by Glasgow Life on behalf of Glasgow City Council, the facility was funded by the Council, the European Championships organisation, sportscotland and British Cycling.

Completion of BMX Centre will mean Glasgow is the only city in the world with venues capable of hosting all four Olympic cycling discipline events - BMX, mountain biking, road and track - within its boundary. The new centre will join the established venues at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and mountain bike trails at Cathkin Braes Country Park.

Glasgow BMX Centre is the home of the Western Titans BMX Club, having relocated from their former base in Clydebank.
