Leckie House

A modern home located a half-mile (1 km) west southwest of Gargunnock in Stirling, Leckie House comprises a A white-harled two-storey five-bay construction with an attic and piended slate roof. It offers fine views to the north and features a swimming pool in an eastern wing. It was built by the Youngers of Leckie in 1962, to replace New Leckie their old family home which had been given to the Church of Scotland. In 1992, it became the home of politician and banker George Younger, (4th Viscount Younger of Leckie, 1931 - 2003) who during the 1980s served as Secretary of State for Scotland and then Minister of Defence under Margaret Thatcher. The house was sold by the family following the death of his widow in 2015.
