Parish of Stenton

Stenton is a parish, which lies in East Lothian Council Area, some 8 miles (13 km) east of Haddington in East Lothian and 14 miles (23 km) northwest of Duns in the Scottish Borders.

It is located in the old county of East Lothian, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 30.6 sq. km (11.8 sq. miles). Stenton has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Cranshaws, Dunbar, Prestonkirk, Spott and Whittingehame. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
