Fala and Soutra is a parish, which lies in Midlothian Council Area, some 9 miles (15 km) southeast of Bonnyrigg in Midlothian and 11 miles (17 km) southwest of Haddington in East Lothian.
It is located in the old county of Midlothian, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 26.8 sq. km (10.3 sq. miles). Fala and Soutra has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Channelkirk, Crichton, Heriot, Humbie and Stow. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
