Margaret Morton


1968 -

Curling champion. Living in Mauchline (East Ayrshire), Morton was vice-captain of the Scottish Curling Team which took the Gold Medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (USA). Along with Morton, the team comprised Rhona Martin (b.1966), Fiona MacDonald (b.1974), Janice Rankin (b.1972) and Debbie Knox (b.1968). Morton's role was as the 'fifth player' so she took little part in the matches played.

Morton was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List (2002).
