Eileen Caddy

1917 - 2006

Co-founder of the Findhorn Foundation. Caddy was born in Egypt, the daughter of a banker. She began a complex relationship with Peter Caddy (1917-94) and for a time live in a menage-a-trois with Caddy's wife. When they failed in the hotel trade, the couple and friend Dorothy Maclean (b.1920) settled in Findhorn and founded the Findhorn Foundation, becoming its spiritual anchor. She was certainly the more spiritual of the pair, responding to 'inner voices' which guided their lives.

Published in 1988, her autobiography was entitled Flight into Freedom. She died at Findhorn, the only one of the original founders who remained there.
