Paolo Nutini


1987 -

Musician. Born in Paisley (Renfrewshire), the son of a fish-and-chip shop owner of Italian descent, Nutini was educated at St. Andrew's Academy in the town. His break came in 2003 when he was invited to sing at a concert to fill time when the host was delayed. He made a series of appearances at concerts, on radio and television, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, T-in-the-park, the Glastonbury Festival and Later with Jools Holland. Known as a singer of rhythm-and-blues and as song-writer, his albums include These Streets (2006) and Sunny Side Up (2009).

In 2008 Nutini became the first performer to play the street parties in both Edinburgh and Glasgow on the same Hogmanay. He toured in the US in 2009.

Nutini now lives in London.
