Stewart Milne

1950 -

Businessman. Born in Aberdeen and raised in Alford, Milne trained as an electrician at Aberdeen Technical College and soon established his reputation converting kitchens and bathrooms in the tenement flats of Aberdeen. In 1975, he created Stewart Milne Construction Ltd. with just six employees. Headquartered in Westhill, the Stewart Milne Group became a leading construction company, specialising in timber frame systems. The company remained privately-held, employing around 1000 people across the UK, with a turnover of more than £350 million, until it collapsed into adminstration in 2024, a victim of the slowing house-buying market. Milne has been a Director of Aberdeen Football Club since 1994 and its Chairman since 1998.

Living in Bieldside (Aberdeen), he was awarded a CBE in 2008 and also holds honorary degrees from Robert Gordon University (2000) and Edinburgh Napier University (2007).
