Middle-distance runner. Born in Edinburgh, where he was raised in the suburb of Morningside and educated at George Watson's College. Kerr began running with the Edinburgh Athletics Club at the age of eight and followed a sporting scholarship to study at the University of New Mexico in the USA. Kerr won a bronze medal for the 1500m at the Tokyo Olympics (2021) and gold medal at the same distance at the World Championships in Budapest (2023). He went on to take a further gold in the 3000m at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow (2024).
