Andrew Cruickshank


1907 - 1988

Actor. Born in Aberdeen and educated at the Grammar School there, Cruickshank began in the theatre, although his most notable role was on television as Dr. Cameron in the series Dr. Finlay's Casebook (1962 - 71), based on Archibald Cronin's book, which ran for 191 episodes. He also starred in a variety of films, including the role of Robert Burns in Auld Lang Syne (1937), Richard III (1954), The Battle of the River Plate (1959), The Thirty-Nine Steps (1959), El Cid (1961) and Murder Most Foul (1964).

He died in London.
