Bucksburn


Aberdeen City

A settlement in the Aberdeen City parish of Newhills, Bucksburn is situated 4 miles (6.5 km) NW of Aberdeen city centre at the junction of the A96 and A947 roads. A centre of papermaking, food processing and the manufacture of protective clothing, it comprises the former hamlets of Auchmill and Buxburn. The Craibstone Estate is the northeastern base for the Scottish Agricultural College's agricultural and horticultural advisory services and the home of the Rowett Research Institute, a centre for the study of animal nutrition.
