A settlement in Wester Ross, Achnasheen (Gael: Achadh na Sine) lies on the River Bran at the western end of Strath Bran, 9 miles (14 km) southeast of Kinlochewe and 30 miles (48 km) west of Dingwall. It is situated at a junction of two roads built by the engineer Thomas Telford in the early 1800s. A railway station was built here in 1870. The Primary School closed in 2004.
