Coldingham

Scottish Borders

A village of Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders, Coldingham lies close to the North Sea coast, 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Eyemouth. There are the remains of a Benedictine priory founded in 1098 by King Edgar and linked to the canons regular of Durham. Coldingham was made a burgh of barony in 1638 and survived as a stopping off place on the main coastal road. Coldingham Moor lies to the northwest and to the east on Coldingham Bay is the village of St Abbs, formerly known as Coldingham Shore.
