Rhubodach

Argyll and Bute

A location and ferry terminal at the northern end of the Isle of Bute (Argyll and Bute), Rhubodach is situated 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Rothesay. Vehicle ferries cross the Kyles of Bute from Colintraive on the mainland, giving an alternative point of entry to Bute from the Wemyss Bay - Rothesay route. Film director Richard Attenborough bought the Rhubodach Estate in 1988 and spent his holidays in the farm-house there until his death in 2014. He sold much of the land - 700 ha / 1729 acres of forest - to the community in 2010 and the house was sold in 2017.
