A village of NW Aberdeenshire, Cornhill lies to the east of the Burn of Boyne, 5 miles (8 km) south of Portsoy. Originally a burgh of barony, Cornhill is now a farming village that holds a weekly livestock market. There is an annual Highland Games held on Cornhill Playing Field on the 1st Saturday of June. As part of this, a cross-country race is run to Knock Hill, 7 miles (10 km) southwest of the village.
