Cockburnspath

(Co'path)
Scottish Borders

A picturesque village of Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders, Cockburnspath lies close to the North Sea coast, 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Dunbar. The village benefits from a community hall, primary school and church. Known locally as Co'path, it was here the 'Glasgow Boys' created an artists' colony in the 1880s and the village still attracts artists. It had a railway station from 1846 until 1951, when it closed like so many other rural stations, although the East Coast Main Line still runs through the village.
