Barrhill


South Ayrshire

Situated 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Girvan on the Duisk River in South Ayrshire and at an elevation of around 135m (450 feet), the village of Barrhill developed in association with local mills, the expansion of the road system and the arrival of the railway in 1877. Nearby is the Convent of Kildonan and since the 1960s afforestation has offered employment.
