Hillhead

Glasgow City

A district of Glasgow, Hillhead is located 2 miles (3 km) northwest of the city centre, with the River Kelvin to the south and east, and the main Gilmorehill campus of the University of Glasgow to the south. Hillhead was first made a police burgh in 1869 before being annexed by Glasgow in 1891. It is mainly residential and the proximity of the University has resulted in it being a favoured site for student accommodation. The district benefits from an underground station.
