Muirton

A northern suburb of the City of Perth (Perth and Kinross) Muirton lies between the Dunkeld Road and the River Tay, a mile (1.5 km) north of the centre of Perth. Now comprising a substantial public housing estate, which is undergoing significant redevelopment 2005 - 2010, in the mid-19th century Muirton consisted of only two farms and couple of road-side cottages.
St. Johnstone Football Club made Muirton Park their home between 1924 and 1989, and the ground was subsequently redeveloped as an ASDA retail superstore.
