Church of Scotland Dirleton (17th C)

Regarded as one of Scotland's most picturesque villages, Dirleton is located 2 miles (3 km) east northeast of Gullane and 2 miles (3 km) west southwest of North Berwick in East Lothian. Dominated by the 13th Century Dirleton Castle, which is now in the care of Historic Environment Scotland, Dirleton includes neat rows of cottages around a large village green. In the northwest corner of the green is an old school-house and a fine Parish Church dating from 1661, but extended in 1825. The Castle Inn is by the noted architect William Burn (c. 1820).
