Dundonald Camp

A settlement which represents the remains of an army camp established just prior to World War II, Dundonald Camp comprises modernised military housing located 2 miles (3 km) north northeast of Troon. Ancillary buildings are used by small business enterprises and in association with farming. For a time during the war, the camp was connected with the combined operations squadron based at RAF Dundonald, which lay just to the northeast.

Located a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the northeast is the UPM Caledonian Paper Mill which opened in 1989.
