onnington, a hamlet in Ratho parish, Edinburghshire, 1½ mile SW of Ratho village.-Bonnington House, in the south-western vicinity of the hamlet, is a mansion of 1622. Bonnington estate, around the mansion and the hamlet, belonged anciently to Robert de Erskine; in the middle of the 17th century, to Lord Collington; in subsequent times, to successively the Durhams, the Cunninghams, and the Wilkies.
