15 April 2007:
I was six years old and lived in Portobello when the air-raid took place. It was a late summers day and all the aircraft flew directly overhead firing their guns, we picked up shrapnel pieces. an 'Air Sea Rescue' flying boat(probably a 'Sunderland') and a 'Lysander' Aircraft were also involved.
German Airmen were killed and were given a Military funeral a Swaztika flag draped their coffins, and they were buried in Portobello cemetry, Milton Road
