Covington


South Lanarkshire

A small settlement in a parish of the same name, Covington is located a half-mile (1 km) west of the River Clyde and a mile (1.5 km) north of Thankerton in South Lanarkshire. Covington Tower is a ruined 15th-century keep, with a doo-cot, but the parish church remains in use. Newtown of Covington lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the south.
