Shops, Crosslee

A village in W Central Renfrewshire, Crosslee lies on the River Gryfe immediately to the west of Craigends, a half-mile (1 km) south of Houston and 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Bridge of Weir. Crosslee Mill was built in 1793 and spun cotton until it burned down in 1858. Another factory, built of reinforced concrete, made cordite fuses during the First World War and was demolished in 1985.
