Rannoch Station

Perth and Kinross

A remote little settlement on the northeastern edge of the Rannoch Moor in Perth & Kinross, Rannoch Station grew up around a railway station of the same name, built c.1890 on the West Highland Line. The settlement lies at the road end, 5 miles (8 km) west of Loch Rannoch, and 15 miles (24 km) west of the nearest settlement of any size, Kinloch Rannoch. The Moor of Rannoch Hotel was built here to house engineers constructing the railway and today makes much of its isolation, without television, internet access or mobile phone signal.
