Kilspindie

Perth and Kinross

A hamlet in the Braes of the Carse, east Perth and Kinross, Kilspindie lies on a minor road at the mouth of a glen that opens out into the Carse of Gowrie, 7 miles (11 km) east of Perth. The seat of the Douglases of Kilspindie probably stood on the site of the present farmhouse near to which are an old school (1821), a ruined doocot and a parish church rebuilt c.1815. In the kirkyard is the Stuart of Rait Mausoleum (1822).
